Student Resources
At the Kandiyapita School we work with the students teaching English and basic computer skills. We have assisted students at the village in the summers of 2012, 2013, and 2014, Off-line wikipedia, Khan Academy and productivity software such as MS Word and Powerpoint were introduced.
Dr. Jayantha facilitated a small team of IT volunteers to visit the village a few times and engage teachers and some students in more advanced use of the computers (2012, 2013).
After succeeding in bringing internet to the school computer lab, direct communication has become possible. Students and staff have email accounts. We work with the students via email continuing tutoring, assisting with assignments, and making mini-lessons to teach concepts and make learning fun.

Volunteer Tutors
We are always seeking peer tutors attending high school or college for 1 on 1 tutoring with the students at the Kandiyapita school. Please send us an email if you are interested. Please tell us your availability, the school you attend, and why you want to be a tutor. We will require a teacher reference as well. Your will enjoy the rewards of seeing eager students making great progress.
